MOHAVE COUNTY
Mohave County road crews will be out making repairs next week. Crews will be applying a new gravel surface to Diamond Bar Road in the Meadview and Dolan Springs areas. A pilot car and flaggers will be used, and motorists should expect delays. Workers will also be chip-sealing Pierce Ferry Road from milepost 10 to 23 and 30 to 34. In Golden Valley, crews will be cleaning up after the Sept. 4 storm by sweeping streets in Verde Estates, Crystal Estates and on Chino Drive. Crews will also be repairing shoulders on Chino Drive and Verde Road.

NEW YORK
The National Transportation Safety Board is calling upon Arizona, Florida and South Dakota to join the rest of the country by passing booster seat legislation. Next week is National Child Passenger Safety Week. The board has been recommending since 1996 that all states have such a law. The U.S. territories of American Samoa and Puerto Rico also lack booster seat laws for children. Earlier this year, Alaska, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands enacted booster seat legislation, bringing the total to 47 states and three territories (the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands) that mandate booster seats.
