News Brief: Sunday, October 18, 2009

KINGMAN
Former state Sen. Brenda Burns, a candidate for the Arizona Corporate Commission, is the guest speaker at Monday's Kingman Republican Men's Club meeting. The meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Elks Lodge, 900 Gates Ave. Admission is $10, which includes lunch. The public is invited.

MOHAVE COUNTY
County road crews will be out in force again this week. Maintenance crews will be in the Meadview area working on storm cleanup and fixing shoulders. Blades will work on roads in Dolan Springs, Wikieup and Golden Valley. Crews will also be sweeping Chino Drive in Golden Valley. The Arizona Department of Transportation is continuing to repave Interstate 40 from Rattlesnake Wash to Holy Moses Wash. Motorist should expect lane restrictions. The project is expected to be completed in November. The Hualapai Tribe, Bureau of Indian Affairs and Grand Canyon West continue to work on Diamond Bar Road.

There was a huge accident on Stockton Hill Rd in front of Chili's on Friday. Why has there not been one thing in your paper about this? Sorry excuse for a "news"paper.
