Safe driver class starts Saturday
KINGMAN - An AARP safe driver course will be taught from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Nov. 7 in the Heidenreich Adult Center, 1776 Airway Ave. Call Bob Welke at (928) 754-2541 for more information.
LAKE HAVASU CITY
The Arizona Department of Transportation, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have teamed up to repair the Bill Williams River Bridge on U.S. 95 between Lake Havasu City and Parker.
The $700,000 project started on Sept. 24 and is scheduled to be completed by February. The project will repair damage from a 2006 tanker truck accident. Royden Construction from Phoenix will make the repairs.

Two personnel with the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District have successfully completed their Paramedic certifications, bringing the total number of paramedics for NACFD to fifteen full time personnel, with another seven students expected to complete their paramedic programs during 2010.
Firefighter Forest Taylor and Firefighter Brian Grant were recently notified they successfully completed the testing process and are now serving residents of the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District.
The NACFD also has an additional eight part-time paramedic firefighters.
LAKE HAVASU CITY
Lake Havasu City Communications and Intergovernmental Affairs Officer Charlie Cassens will remain as acting Lake Havasu city manager for a while longer. According to Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City Council unanimously appointed Cassens to the position Tuesday evening.
Cassens replaces former City Manger Richard Kaffenberger, who was fired during a special session of the council on Oct. 20. According to the News-Herald, Kaffenberger was fired after suggesting that the council approve a sewer project contract with Faithful + Gould. He allegedly did not follow state statutes and put the project out for bid before suggesting Faithful + Gould.
