KINGMAN - One man was shot during an armed robbery at the King Mart (King Tut's) convenience store in Golden Valley Wednesday afternoon.

The man, an employee of the store, was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The robbery occurred just before 1 p.m. Deputies were still looking for the suspect but a description was unavailable Wednesday evening.

The suspect is believed to have set his getaway vehicle on fire several blocks away from the store on Hoover Road. He allegedly got into a second waiting vehicle, possibly a black Ford Ranger with a camper shell, according to initial reports.

The store was the scene of an attempted robbery in February.

The suspect in that case, James Christopher Lobnow of Huntington Beach, Calif., was found hiding half a mile from the store 30 minutes later.

He was sentenced to three years of probation.

@Frank

"...acquiesce quickly to the robber..."

Keep that in mind when some methheads kick your door in at 2 a.m. Of course, that's if you live through the experiance.

@H0tRail

Funny, I just looked in the phone book and could not find a listing for a "Mr. Hotrail" at all. One thing I am certain of is that given your not so well thought out comment and spelling skills, while someone may be able to discover someones identity by tracing a IP address, you certainly do not have the talent or connections to do so. Feel free to continue to accuse others of others of hiding while you do so behind what you think is a witty screen name.

"3 years probation for robbery? !!!! Whats wrong with that picture??"

You must be a newbie to the area. By Mohave County Justice standards he practically had the book thrown at him.

Hey what you did was really wrong buddy! However when they catch up with you DO NOT TAKE A PLEA! It is just a bunch of lies and you lose your rights! For example, the young man who had a horrific accident. They promised him a non-violent charge. Guess what? He has landed smack down in the middle with violent offenders! Be careful, we are losing our rights! Big Brother is running this town. I don't know why we have any crime at all, maybe it is the bitterness that the present regimen is brewing.

why are they so easy on these California guys? However our Kingman guys really get hit hard! Perhaps it should be the other way around! Theres that "gentleman" from California, Jessie (the prosecutor's main BOY) who walked out of jail for testifing against Marcus (hometown boy)! However Jessie was just as guilty (if not more so) than Marcus. I just don't get it. Are these Calfornia guys just more savvy on how to charm our detectives and prosecutors? They sure seem to have it down!

Rob a store then set your vehicle on fire? How does he gain anything from that? Most be on drugs.

Yea, for some the answer is more guns.

I'd prefer the employees be instructed to acquiesce quickly to the robber with the goal of getting him/her out of the store as soon as possible. Let the law track the robber down.

I certainly don't wish to go into any place of business where everyone has a gun.

Sounds like the owner needs to allow the employees to carry a gun while working.
