PHOENIX

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer called a fourth special session of the Arizona Legislature at 3 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the state budget.

The state currently has a $2 billion shortfall in the 2010 budget.

The Legislature and governor could cut $300 million in education and social services from the $10 billion budget in order to make ends meet. However, more cuts could be in the future as the state is only expected to take in $6.4 billion in revenues.

Power was knocked out to 11,000 UNS Electric customers for about 48 minutes Tuesday morning. Outages affected areas in the city's western half, including Hualapai Mountain Medical Center and the Kingman Airport Industrial Park.

Bill DeJulio, general manager for UNS Electric in Mohave County, said the outage lasted from 9:59 to 10:47 a.m. and was related to a problem with a transformer at the company's Hilltop Substation on Hualapai Mountain Road.

DeJulio said the company is still investigating the exact cause of the outage.
