KINGMAN - A half-day, hands-on ATV rider course to learn the proper and safe use of all-terrain vehicles is being offered at facilities located in Kingman and Lake Havasu City. The course is conducted by Chuck Myers, who has been certified by the ATV Safety Institute and certifies volunteers with the Mohave County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team.
Myers is offering classes in Kingman at 1 p.m. Saturday, and on Nov. 28, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12.
Information about class location and availability can be found at www.atvsafety.org, or call (800) 887-2887.
The course is free for purchasers of most new ATVs, and it is available to others for a reasonable fee.
"It's critical that riders and non-riders alike understand the importance of the safe and responsible use of ATVs," Myers said.
"Parental supervision is a key element to a child's safety, and children under the age of 16 must be supervised at all times when operating an ATV."
Myers can be reached at (928) 715-4610 for more information.

To comment on the $25 tags, there is only 1 blm officer for all of mohave county. This information was given to me by the blm office. I say catch me offroad. If we need this "TAG" then why did i buy rv plates from the DMV when i bought my 4 wheelers?

isn't anyone outraged like I am over the OHV tags they are making us buy? What a total rip off and I see nothing to show for it. I would like to see the people who came up with this rip off show us what they are doing with the big bucks they are making.

Gee whiz, Capt. Nice! Do you really think those funds are going to benefit anyone outside the Phoenix area?

ATV classes are paid by the manufacture if you purchased the atv new. Its a relationship between ASI and the atv manufactures.

I was wondering why the people who came up with this $25 dollar tag for OHV's don't put on a safety class free to all people who have ATV's after all they have to do something with the money they are cheating us out of. They say it goes towards trails which I have seen none of. They say they have collected over a million dollars with this tag rip off, now lets see them become accountable!
