KINGMAN - A woman is looking for two puppies she says were stolen out her children's arms in front of Wal-Mart two weeks ago.

Rozmeree French said she visited Wal-Mart around 2:45 p.m. Jan. 24 to show off her two purebred Chihuahuas to a friend.

French's 8-year-old twins were holding the puppies in front of the store near the grocery entrance while she went inside to retrieve her friend. French said she was inside for less than a minute when one of her kids came in saying that a middle-aged couple had taken off with the puppies.

French's children told police that an older black couple approached them and expressed an interest in the dogs. After they told them the dogs were $125 each, the couple allegedly gave the kids $35 before loading the puppies in their car and driving off.

The puppies, one male and one female, are described as cream colored.

"The little girl is so fragile," she said. "I'm really worried about her."

The couple left in a tan, luxury-type vehicle with a sunroof. The descriptions of both the couple and vehicle were provided by the twins.

Sgt. Bob Fisk with the Kingman Police Department said the couple could face charges of misdemeanor theft if found.

Anyone with information is asked to call French at (928) 279-0291.

@ NaShea

Some people don't like to post their real names, not due to their being cowardly as you state, but more because they don't want others' to be able to locate their address, telephone number, information about their child or even their affiliation with a specific school or collegiate organization.

You shouldn't be so quick to name call, some people just have preferences.

Continuing on a positive note, your grammar and knowledge of the English language is superlative. It's nice to see and so easy to read. Good work!

@NaShea: You should follow your own advice as I doubt NaShea is your full name. So according to your logic being you've only given us a partial name you are partly cowardly, and your remarks and motivations are partly questionable. And what's to say your name is even partly NaShea?

Hmm... OK then "NaShea". There are several things wrong with this story. My full name added, so there should be no doubts as to who wrote this comment or what my motives are.... lol

Are the Chi's for sale in the Miner classifieds for the same amount the same dogs they were trying to sell outside of Wal-Mart?

What is the name of the friend French was visiting at Wal-Mart?

Why not just ask Wal-Mart for the survailence tape for that area, hour etc.????

Smells like alot of fish in this story!

Goodness, you people certainly do expect the worst of the world, don't you? I'm a fan of letting the authorities, who are trained for this kind of thing, decide who's telling the truth.

As for previous comments that children are often left to sell pets, I agree that you should never buy anything from a minor who is not attended by an adult. Also, I agree that stores shouldn't be letting people sell their puppies out front.

One last note, don't make a comment you aren't willing to put your real name on. It's cowardly and leaves your remarks and motivations questionable.

The picture is of the mother, kids and the puppies parents...everybody seems to be all smiles there. Weird, weird, weird!

Sounds like she wanted to sell them for $125/each and is upset that the kids gave them up for such a discount, now she's crying theft to try to get the rest of her money back or the dogs so she can re-sell them. I also agree that she's very lucky she didn't come out and find her kids were missing as well as the dogs...I would never leave an 8-year-old child alone in front of Wal-mart, that's just asking for trouble!!!

I do wish that the stores,in Kingman, would not let the people do puppy sales on their property. We need to do all we can to stop people from breeding puppies.

As far as this story goes, it sounds like we aren't getting the whole truth from this irresponsible woman. Also, what makes anyone think, it is a good idea, to go do personal visiting , with an employee, when they are getting paid to work. Visit on your own dime!

ummmm . . . can't figure this woman's angle but it seems she's hoping for some sympathetic soul to pay her for this bogus "crime".

I see dogs/cats either for sale or given away it seems everytime go to a store around here. If there is no reciept that the animals were paid in full at an agreed price, who is to say that was not the agreed price to start with. And most of the times its kids that are tasked upon to sell the animals. Anytime you buy anything around this town get a reciept for your purchase that it was paid in full.

This really is a strange story. Were they selling the dogs? and I agree with it taken more than a minute for this whole "transaction" to go down. Very strange...

2 weeks ago and just now making the news?

First, at 8 years old if they were just there "showing off the dogs" then why did they even take the $35 when handed the money? Either these 8 year olds are slightly "slow" or someone isn't telling the whole story.

Maybe the kids thought they were being asked how much they got the dogs for and the kids were telling them that they got the dogs for $125 each. Simple misunderstanding on the kids part. But then there are those skeptics who would think otherwise.

I have to agree. There's something fishy about this story.

My child is 8 and I would never dream of leaving her alone ANYWHERE! The mother must be out of her mind.
