Wreck, fire snarl eastbound I-40 traffic
1/22/2013 5:15:00 PM
KINGMAN - A tanker truck fire on Interstate 40 stopped eastbound motorists Tuesday afternoon.
An Arizona trooper at the scene near mile marker 80 estimated the fire would stall traffic up to five hours as of 4:15 p.m.
A firefighter on his way to the scene said he was told that the truck's engine caught fire and the decision was made to let the fuel burn off. He also said the blaze ignited a small brushfire.
The driver, he said, escaped injury.
