Kingman Photo: How does Camp Beale look now?

According to Bill De Julio, director of electric operations for UniSource Energy, the company has cleaned up, rebuilt the trails and reseeded the Camp Beale area with native vegetation after replacing transmission lines at the historic site.
The Western Area Power Administration started rebuilding the line from Davis Dam to Coyote Pass last year, and UNS has an interconnection with them at that point so the utilities can exchange energy in emergencies.
"We had some old structures going up Highway 93 that were of the 1930s vintage," De Julio told the Miner in an earlier interview. "WAPA's construction gives us the opportunity to reconstruct lines through the same area with more suitable structures."
