KINGMAN - An 18-year-old is dead and her mother is in guarded condition at a Las Vegas hospital following a domestic violence incident on the Fourth of July.

Ariel Allison, 18, died at the scene of the attack in the 1800 block of Pacific Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday. Her mother, Jennifer Allison, 35, was found unresponsive in the driveway with multiple stab wounds and a gunshot wound. Her condition was not immediately available Monday.

Kingman Police Officers arrested 51-year-old Darrell Bryant Ketchner in connection with the murder. Ketchner was arrested in April for breaking out a car's windows at the address of where the shooting took place. He is currently in the Mohave County Jail in connection with Saturday's attack.

I didn't have the chance to really get to know Ariel at Yavapai but when i did see her she was always smiling and very kind. I cant believe that a tragedy like this happened to one of our own. My thoughts and prayers go out to Ariels family and her boyfriend Brandon.

Condolences and healing prayers go out to Jennifer and all the The Allison family in the loss of their beautiful Ariel.

What a horrific tragedy; the Allison family is one of the most respected and well loved in Kingman, we are all greiving and left wondering why??? I saw Jennifer at Grace Lutheran Church with her father-in-law Bob Allison, she is very beautiful woman along with her gorgeous children.

I'm just so sorry all of this had to happen...

I just wanted to correct the newspaper and their reporters for falsely reporting that Ariel died on scene. I was one of the paramedics woking hard to resuscitate her. We tried our best, and we worked her hard all the way into Kingman Regional. It was very emotional for all of us when they pronounced her at the hospital.

What a tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. That night will stay with me for the remainder of my career.

Ariel was an amazing girl and i for one was someone who witnessed how great she was. We have been very good friends for sometime now and to think i will never be able to laugh or cry with her again breaks my heart. Ariel, let you now be safe with your dad joined hand in hand in a far better place than here. Jennifer, let god place his hand upon you and heal you so that you may come back to your children and help them as well as yourself through this tragedy. Kenzie, my heart goes out to you, your such a great girl, and have many things ahead of you stay strong and if you need anything im always here. [Deleted -- Read Terms of Use].

This is truly tragic and to those who think a weapon could have helped in this situation I just have to say the neighbors of the Allisons had many many guns in their home and rushed to get them while the attack took place but it all happened so fast and sometimes you just can't react fast enough to make a difference. Sure, if they had known he was coming he could have been stopped but this came out of no where and a gun is only useful when you use it.

[Deleted -- Read Terms of Use]. Don't they know how easy it is to obtain a gun? WAY too easy. There are virtually thousands of warrants for arrest out right now in Mohave County, yet we feel it necessary to wait until the violators commit yet ANOTHER crime to arrest them? We have a new, 2,000 bed prison almost completed. Let's put these fools away!

To Good and the Bad. I do not think I want to return back about 15 years ago .. Kingman was home then to one of the worst mass murders in the U. S. History Timothy McVeigh .. Look at all the bad press Kingman got then. Lets keep plugging forward.

I understand what your saying, have been in Kingman almost 40 years. The one thing that needs to be said, is that 10-15 years ago, these "Kingman Elite" ran this town, far more then they do now. Back then, hoping it's less now a days, but you had cops and judges and prosecutors that were on the take, they were as dirty as the criminals and that's as dirty as the day is long.

[Deleted -- Read Terms of Use]. It's always been about who you know.

It's unfortunate, some people really do deserve the benefit of the doubt, and that should be at a judges discretion. It's a shame, when you really pay attention and look at the records, the ones getting the breaks are more likely to be from these "Elite Families", I would like to think it happens less now then in the past.

In many ways, I too wish Kingman were more like it was 15-20 years ago, but with the good also comes the bad.

I have only known Jen, Kinsey, and Nate for a few months. As they walked into my store they always wore an ear to ear smile. Their bubbly personalities could make anyones day better. They were all so polite and full of complimants. I cant believe such a horrible thing has happened.

We will all continue to pray for the survival of Jennifer. For Ariel, may you now walk hand in hand with your father, and keep watch over all. Kinsey stay strong your a beautiful young lady, and your siblings need you. Nate your a great young man, stay strong for kinsey.

For all the girls who have ever been abused by a man get out before its to late. You do not deserve to be hit upon or abused in anyway. [Deleted -- Read Terms of Use].

As for the law enforcement, I pray you now step up and dont let another animal just walk away.

This family need the help of our community so its time we step up and help. There is a carwash set up for july 10th at taco bell off stockton hill rd from 8am to 2pm. An account has also been setup at mission bank anything will help, the account # is 150012987, and also on july 11th at Appearance Day Spa & Tanning ( CONFECTION) all the proceeds will go to the Allsion Family. So whatever you can do will be a great deal of help. We will keep you all in our prayers. Jen stay strong you kids need you and i would love to see that smiling face again.

It is time to take back our town and make it the place it was 10-15years ago; I don't mean kick all the Californians out. It's time to bring back that small town connection. Most people in this town are rude. This includes some of the old time K-townians. It's like they are discombobulated w/ who they are and what we stand for. We have had are share of wierd o's in the past; bad events and tragedies. As a community we all ways pull together to help one another. These days it seems alot less. Most of the comments I read are the fact of; that Kingman needs to get Judges to put fear into the hearts of the people there prosecuting. I think for the most part this is done, but majority of the harsh penalties they give out are to the no namers; the so called “Kingman Elite” seem to walk on water and can do no wrong. Unless some no namer does something to them than there name is in the paper explaining on how great they are and that they are a victim. I have lived hear my whole life; I have missed up; I didn’t do any major crimes, but the punishment met the action. [Deleted -- Read Terms of Use]. Don’t get me wrong there are good people that bare these last names of the “Kingman Elite”, but some of there kids or parents have taken the wrong path and need to be made example of. In some of these cases we need some good old back woods county lawerys. PS there are several other names for the list I just don't care enough about them to mension.

As I've read thru page after page after page of comments, several thoughts come to mind. The support system for this family in their time of need is great! Everyones focus at this point in time should be to support, pray for and lift up these family's and Jennifer. To start to blame the judges, the courts the prosecutors and the cops is insane. There is only one person to balme and he is currently sitting in jail! There is no dooubt that our judicial system has flaws, but its the best in the world. If you don't like what the judges and prosecutors are doing in your community - don't continue to vote for them! Don't just sit by as these types of matters work there way through teh legal system - show up in court and make you presence known. To accuse the cops of being on the take...come on, get real. If you chose to listen to teh criminals and druggies about the credibility of our local law enforcement - then we are in worse trouble than you think.

Everyone needs to know this. There are factors that are not public knowledge about what has gone on or what was going on. We shouldn't react to rumor or speculation. Let teh police do their investigation, they are trying to do their very best and they do care, despite what some of you may think. This is their community as well, they have families and children here too, many of whaich have grown up with or - are currently growing up with many of Jennifers kids.

This has impacted our community and will for some time to come. Continue to pray for the families and give support where and when you can.

Ariel will be sorely missed. She should not be forgotten. She did not go quietly into the night. She was put there.

[Deleted -- Read Terms of Use].

Life is full of injustices. All we can do is learn and try to prevent them from happening again. More rights for victims are needed. Because when you fear for your life nothing will be done unless the perp trys to hurt you. That needs to change. It should be easier to get an order of protection. Speaking from experience, it is not easy. It is time to write more letters to administrators of laws and representatives of the people to lobby for victims rights. No one deserves to be terrorized. No One. and know this. The national average of domestic violence incidents leading to death is 5. That means if the perp is allowed into your life at least 5 times, your abuser will very likely kill you. So if your living with a domesticly violent partner. Start gathering your important documents and making copies of them. Give the copies to a person you trust. Make an escape plan. Have clothes with the copied documents. Then call the police or Kingman Aid to Abused People. Leave, press charges and don't go back. The perp will kill you and I don't care what they say, they don't change and No One ever deserves abuse and terror.

our hearts break for this family. Ariel was a sweet beautiful young lady it is so sad that her life ended so tragically. Our prayers are with Jennifer and Kinsey as well as the Allison Family and Jennifer Mom. My God give them all the strength they will need to get through this.

Once again domestic violence rears its ugly head. When will the Judges learn to take it more serious and stop it before it gets to this point. Not just on a local level but a national one as well.
