1/24/2010 6:00:00 AM Letter: You owe us an apology, Mr. Sockwell
I have to agree with Supervisor Tom Sockwell about leaving the '70s in the past. In fact, most of us who lived in that era, myself included, learned what we could, both good and bad, and moved on. Apparently, Sockwell was one of those who didn't learn or move on.
One of the biggest lessons that came out of the '70s was this: Don't trust politicians or their politics. It has taken more than 30 years for that lesson to take hold, but it is taking hold. Perhaps Sockwell and his cronies haven't yet heard about what is happening in America. People have grown tired of "Politics as Usual." They are holding little get-togethers around this country and calling them "Tea Parties" ( See 1773 ).
In Massachusetts, the voters filled Ted Kennedy's seat with, dare I say it, a Republican. That seat was in Democratic control for nearly 50 years! That's called sending a message. There are actually some people in the Senate and House who say they are getting the message. People want what they want, not what the politicians want. Even President Obama is taking notice.
It is no longer going to be business as usual in this county. The people need what you aren't giving them: a say in what happens. It is getting harder to bypass the public with your questionable decisions. It's going to get harder.
I am one of those who want to see you and your cronies gone. If you keep writing letters, you are going to make it easier. You pointed out that Luca Zanna was out of order and violated ARS statutes. Is that the best you can do? I have yet to hear you defend yourself or other supervisors against questionable decisions you have made. Actually, it is probably for the best. If you don't talk, it's hard to prove you wrong. If you open your mouth, as you did with this letter, you open the flood gates. Did you realize you called a large portion of your constituents "wingnuts" and "soap box activists." I bet after reading your letter, Supervisors Watson and Johnson are trying to figure out how to distance themselves from you. Well, at least now all the wingnuts and soap box activists know who they voted for.
A couple other things. Like Sen. McCain, I am an honored veteran of the Vietnam War. I have the scars and hardware to prove it. I voted for the senator and will again. I also know that the senator and many like him fought so people like Zanna, Bridget Langston and others could express their opinion. I am sure if McCain knew you used him as an excuse to shut down Mr. Zanna, he would have something other than "Thank You" to say to you.
Also, comparing Mr. Zanna, Ms. Langston and other soap box activists to Hanoi Jane Fonda is an unconscionable act on your part. Fonda was and still is a traitor to this country. Your soap box activists are trying to repair the damage that has been done to this county and this country. You owe some big time apologies.

Did you learn your attack and distract, never answer the question techniques from Hillary, Pelosi or Reid?
Do you even know who Oath Keepers are or is the reason you are an ex-marine have something to do with Section 8?

I see I angered the local "Aryan Nations club members" in Mohave county, who think treason, sedition is patriotism! I could care less, since what you folks eat will not make me fat! And I still say secession is sedition/treason, all one has to do is look up the statutes bubba, at your next skin head aryan club meeting! One good thing about this country, folks like you secessionists, looney tune tea partiers, have as much chance of a secessionist movement as a snow ball in hades!

My question to the "ex-marine": Are you an Oath Keeper? Because the group is supported by those tea partiers and Patriots.

Nephew of a Retired Marine.
To the no name coward who claims to be an "ex-marine", there is no such thing as an ex-marine. As to your rant on the sedition and treason laws, go back to school and learn a thing or two about the subject.

Yes please make the "tea partiers" a real political party, they did so well with their candidate in New Yorks 23rd congressional seat, loosing to a democrat a seat not held by a democrat since the civil war era! I am so hopefull the tea party continues with their looney tune success, demanding secession, if they do not get their way, and as long as they keep their comments within the boundries of 1st amendment freedom of speech, I am ok with it, but let them cross that line into actually trying to secede, they then commit federal sedition and treason, and they have some nice cozy federal prison cells for them to go to when they make that mistake, secession, sedition is what lead to the civil war, and that is not patriotism, but treason, and the most unpatriotic behavior anyone can be involved in, anyone claiming tea party membership is not a patriot, but a traitor, in my view, since as a ex-marine, I did not fight for these treasonous traitors to destroy this great nation!

WORKIN MAN
How long does McCain think he can run on his Service to this country?
I appreciate all that he has done BUT does this make him any better than others who have served?
Its all he has as qualifications to run.
Hes abused his power and made bad decisions. He has lied to his constinuents and his voting record SUCKS.
I say this guy needs to do something good for this state and stop drawing a check for doing nothing.
Just like our Board of Stupivisors he passes the buck. Ive been trying to figure out just whatit is the BOS actually does..they dont seem to have control over much of anything except passing flyers out at the BOS auditorium.

Mr Veradt read Michelle Malkins column in the Miner today ....Sunday.
You say "I voted for the senator and will again", well......I too voted for him once but I will never vote for him again.......
I'm sick/tired of his phoney BS....his only concern is getting reelected.....Every time I turn on the TV there is his ugly puss..the only thing hes good at is getting on TV..... what a joke this guy is........
I would vote for a monkey against McCain....there is nothing worse that these PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS.
We need to THROW OUT ALL INCUMBENTS the next time around.

You would hope that after all this Mr Stockwell would back peddle a bit and try to resolve what appears to be a problem getting issues on the agenda, instead of writing his little letter. But apparently he has forgotten who he works for. I'll make a little note....NO vote for Stockwell, and tell all my friends.

It would be far easier to take back the Republican party than win with a 3rd party.
