2/19/2010 6:00:00 AM Letter: They're called constitutional rights!
Mr. Walker, we know there are other places to "demonstrate, pass out flyers and speak our opinions," but we chose to do that at our county building on Feb. 16. Repeat after me, they are called "constitutional rights."
Why didn't your version of ARS 11-410 prevent us from doing what we did? Because there is no other version of ARS 11-410. Our gathering just reinstates what everybody already knows, that what we did was completely legal, just like passing out McCain's voting record on Nov. 13 was legal.

And a P.S. to Kingman and Icarus. Protest is what started America. Against King George. Against lack of freedom and tyranny. We stand for something. We have always been 'protesters' here in America. That is why we have Civil Rights, and your Gun Rights. That is what stopped the war in Viet Nam. Americans are not wimps. At least some of them are not.

To Kingman and Icarus. First of all,his name is Luca ZANNA. Not Zanny, as you so childishly call him. And, suggesting they are on government assistance is also childish and without foundation. The name-calling, and placing them with L. Farahkan is an example of how little you have to say that is of substance. Can't you at least ACT like adults instead of rambling and calling names? And discuss the issues at hand, as Zanna does? You disgrace yourselves. Do you even KNOW why he is doing what he is doing? Have you informed yourselves. If you have, and I doubt it, then you are saying that people have no rights to freedom in this country. The small freedoms, like asking a question in a Meeting. What a crime!

@Lance,
You obviously have not been following this story. The COUNTY allowed John McCain to hand out politcal paperwork and then the COUNTY refused to allow someone else to hand out Mccains voting record. So you say that PUBLIC property is not the place to have political rallies BUT that it just what the COUNTY was doing but tried to stop the public from doing the very same thing. Since this ALL has to do with the COUNTY, I would say we have every right to have a rally at the County Admin. for blocking the publics rights. It would make no sense to go to a public park to rally against the county for violating our rights as americans.

@ NNP and Christine,
If you think you really own a part of the county building, go try to make some renovations, spend the night, or do anything else that a property owner can do with their property. The bottom line is that "public property" is not the venue for holding political rallies. The County is not discriminating against anyone or any party. If no party is allowed to hand out political material on the premises, then everyone is being treated fairly. There is a reason that political material (signs) are not allowed on public buildings or right-of-ways. Brochures should be treated in the same way. Oh but wait, since it is “public property”, you think you have the right to do so. Sorry doesn't work that way. Paying taxes does not give you the right to do whatever you want to on property owned by the county. Try to stand at the front door of the White House and do the same thing. Federal taxes are used to pay for and maintain that building so shouldn’t you be allowed to do what you want because you own a part of the building and property? What a joke!

I drove down to the Admin building Friday afternoon and spoke with Mr. Walker's asistant. Seems that the County Manager cleared his talking points with local law enforcement officials, which does not reassure me at all. These are the same people who break the law at will against outspoken dissidents. Sounds like consulting the wolves on how best to address the concerns of the sheep. To "no name provided" critics here - just for fun, would you please ratthe off some meaningful things we can do nowadays without Government permission, oversight, or approval? While you scratch your heads or other body parts, the rest of us have very important work to do.

Could it be that "No name provided" is somebody from the county, or Ron Walker himself? Who ever it is,they seem to really be angry about what is being said and seem to take it personally!

I would think that the Daily Minor has increased its readers since this all began, and in case some of you don't know...Kingman is getting a lot of attention on the internet...it's almost "viral"..I am proud to be here with great constitutionalist , and Americans that will stand together against corrupt tyrants who are in the public servants offices.
I think I will attend all the meetings at the county supervisors bldg...and see whats on the agenda sheet each time. Besides Mr. Sockwell seemed so pleased to see us all there this last time. Any one care to join me ?

@ Mr. Whistler
"The County owns the property..."
Please tell me who do you think the county is? Who pays for the county property? You say "Get a life!" because you believe the COUNTY has the right to stop county citizens from approaching county property. Please explain who pays for this county property.
I am a resident of this county, and I pay county taxes, and I believe the County Administration Building is located in the County, and I helped pay for this building as well as the land it sits on. I would surmise that as a county resident, I own part of this building.
If you are not a county resident, you can say that "the county owns the property and can allow what they want to happen on their property" without worrying about what happens on your property.
I, for one, don't mind one bit if Mr. Zanna or anyone else decides to hand out literature or hold a peaceful rally on this county property or any other county property.

Many people are getting backed into a corner now days. One guy bulldozed his home because the bank would not work with him, another just flew his plane into the IRS building in Austin,Tx.As more and more people are backed into corners by over regulation and government restriction on our rights you will start seeing a lot more of these type of things. Over 40 million people out of work and 500 thousand a month losing their jobs, when these people get hungry enough they will rob to feed their families. They will do crazy things to get even. This is a fact of life. This is the type of thing that taking peoples right away cause. Our BOS should be thankful That the protesters are all honest law abiding citizens. The more rights are stepped on the more crazies will appear, read your history. This is not a threat it is a fact of life. I do not want to have to carry a gun to protect me and my family. Until this country goes back to being run by the constitution I see things getting much worse. We can not continue to lose 500 thousand jobs a month and not have serious problems. The government sees problems coming, that is why they are preparing for riots they expect to happen this year. What is going on in this country today scares the hell out of me. What I see going on this country is about to fall. I keep hoping that more people will wake up and see all the corruption going on in the government and stand up for their rights before things really get out of hand. We need many more people like Luca Zanna and Mervin Fried. They are what America is all about.

I want to hear that Mervin Fried not only has his charge(s) dropped for being arrested while NOT breaking the law last Tuesday, but that he successfully sues Ron Walker. I was there and Walker presumptiously told me "I instructed him (Fried) not to bring the pitchfork in here", as if Walker's words were law. His words are not law! Unfortunately for Mervin, he will likely have to wait five or six months until trial date, all the time being a good boy, being restricted from out-of-state travel (???, sounds more like Napoleonic Law rather than English law which holds that you are innocent until proven guilty!) and not giving offence to the criminals-with-badges, and wait for His Honor to throw out the charges. Just don't take any plea deals from those boyo city attorneys, Mervin.

The County owns the property and can allow what they want to happen on their property. If they didn't want buffoons handing out political material on their property, that is their decision. Just as you have the right to not let someone hand out material on your property. Get a life!
