2/17/2010 6:00:00 AM Letter: We elected you, we can un-elect you
Thank you, Arizona State Sen. Ron Gould. You are the only elected official with the courage and integrity to stand up for the truth, the law, and the people of Mohave County.
I have watched with despair as Washington D.C. sinks lower and lower into "Chicago-style politics," but I still never believed such a thing would ever happen in Mohave County. I stand corrected. Graft, corruption and greed have taken over our county politics. Some of our Mohave County elected officials are nothing more than mean-spirited, dishonest, greedy bullies who think that the citizens of Mohave County cannot, or will not, do anything to stop them. They are very, VERY mistaken.
There are some elected officials in Mohave County who take a great deal of taxpayer money and believe that their inflated salary and benefits packages give them the right to trample on the U.S. Constitution, federal law, Arizona state law, and the citizens of Mohave County personally. Without any reasonable excuse for their behavior available, they have resorted to name-calling. This behavior is a pathetic attempt to focus the people's attention on anything other than their illegal activity.
I agree completely with Mohave County Manager Ron Walker that "the Rule of Law deserves respect," however, one must first have a reasonable understanding of the law, which he, and the county supervisors, clearly do not. Mr. Walker's recent attempt to "spin" the events that occurred before Sen. McCain's town hall meeting, not during the meeting, as he inaccurately stated, is nothing short of exactly what Mr. Walker described as the "lunatic fringe." The only difference, however, is that he and the supervisors are the ones who believe they can do whatever they want despite a written law to the contrary.
ARS 11-410 pertains entirely to the use of county resources or employees to influence elections. The fact that Mr. Walker and the Board of County Supervisors believe they can twist this law to cover up their own ignorance, as well as their own unlawful behavior, is insulting to the residents of Mohave County. In letters written to and published by the Miner, both Mr. Walker and Supervisor Tom Sockwell have publicly and prominently displayed not only their ignorance, but also their disdain for the residents of Mohave County. What part of "elected" official do they not understand? We fought that battle 234 years ago and won our freedom from tyrants. "We the People" can and will un-elect those officials who do not serve the interests of Mohave County residents!

One thing for sure some of these tea partiers are either already familiar with the "justice system, jail, prison" or soon will be if they persist in thinking "revolution is patriotism", reminds me of a old saying my father used to say, a hard head makes a soft tail!
You folks whine, cry 24/7, talk a good game but have no solutions, your just angry at loosing elections and not being able to get the "silent majorty who never attend rallies, town hall meetings but merely vote" to join you!
One funny thing about this whole issue is if you folks in the majority prove it at the ballot box or else continue your cry baby antics and violate county, state, federal laws and get that 3 hots and a cot in the jail house! :-)

One thing for sure these angry tea party types fall into two categories 99% angry, loud, whining, crying, woe to me and mine, and that 1% who go insane and fly planes into buildings like yesterday in Austin Texas!

Sometimes it makes me wonder what side our deputies are on?
Does Ron Walker pull their strings also?
They wont arrest Buster and a security guard for threats towards a citizen of removal from the property for handing out fliers, they wont arrest anyone for allowing McCain to do his politicking on County property......but they will arrest a citizen for trespassing because he walked into the County building with a pitch fork?
I wonder what is going to happen to all of our county workers when they are caught with shovels on county property, in buildings?
I guess we could fill up our new and expensive county jail really quick.
Be careful if you have to take back any shovels or other such tools to Home Depot for exchange.

@Citizen
Thank you for your positive comments. I would like to clarify one point however.
This was not a rally organized by anyone including Mr. Zanna. Although I am pleased that he stepped in to encourage people to speak their mind.
Originally, I sent a press release to the Daily Miner stating that I intended to be present in the parking lot prior to the BOS meeting to stand in support of our 1st Amendment Rights. I stated very clearly that this was not an organized event, but did encourage people to join me in a show of support. My reason for this action was because of the illegal treatment of Mr. Zanna by Buster Johnson at the McCain campaign dog and pony show. I do not know if my release was ever published. I did however, email my release to many people and encouraged them to join me as individuals standing in support of our 1st Amendment Rights for ALL people. I encouraged people to forward it, sign their own name or change the wording if they wished to anyone they felt may wish to join me in a gathering to support freedom of speech.
I even received copies signed by others inviting me to take part in the spontaneous event. Apparently there we many supportive people out in Citizen land that felt strongly about this issue. Many people expressed support but were not able to leave work to attend. Others felt that attending would jeopardize their employment if they were spotted in the parking lot. My assumption is that some may have been County employees. I would like to make it clear the the Mohave Minutemen, wherever or whoever they are were not involved. Mr. Zanna did confirm he would stand as well, as an individual, in support of our freedom of speech along with the other fifty or so concerned citizens that were willing to join me. I for one, am thankful we have a person with the drive and integrity of Mr. Zanna and would proudly stand by him at any event.
I extend my personal appreciation to all fellow patriots who were able to stand with me in support of Free Speech in Mohave County.
The citizens of the United States of America need to exercise a good "house cleaning" at ALL levels of Government. The easiest and most effective place to start is by cleaning up the garbage in our own back yards. And thus the road to recovery begins!

Great letter Sharon, and I really enjoyed Consalatos letter. I really can't add any thing to it, except there are a lot of us out here hurting just like everyone at the protest. I had stated earlier the 3 involved in the scraps should apologize. The protest was basically peaceful. We, the protestors did get the message out...THEY left the building..BOS..haha, couldn't even apologize for their mistakes. Ron Gould, are you the only honest one out there??? signed by 'WE THE PEOPLE'

Earl Hamlyn asked me on TV yesterday why I hadn't written my concerns to the county supervisors (he rattled off each of their names on camera). This was at Luca Zanna's rally yesterday at the Administration building. I don't feel like writing letters to anyone who has already used demeaning language at me behind the cover of "no name provided" here. And when it comes to the serious allegations f graft and home break-ins, I think a better approach than writing a polite letter of enquiry may be to slap these people with criminal charges on top of a federal lawsuit.

Great letter Sharon. I agree 100% with everything you said. Here's a thought you live in District 2. You know the same District that Tom (I cant remember where I am in the meeting) Sockwell. Perhaps when he is RECALLED (and it wont take long to get the signatures collected) you can run for County Supervisor. It is apparent that you can read and understand it, two qualities that (still employed for now) Supervisor Tom Sockwell does not have. Again a very well written letter and excellent point!

Thank you Jim Consolato for speaking up! I couldn't say it any better! It's always great to hear new voices on these issues. It's amazing that most all new voices seem to agree with me about what is happening in this county!
Ron Walker and BOS, are you getting message? With all the arrogance that spews for this group, I doubt it. To Mr Walker, who directly responded to one of my opinions, stating I had a "hate and anger issue" and that I needed good luck with my way of thinking! How's your opinion working out for you now? I told you that this storm is only starting to brew. Thanks again Jim for getting involved!

"You People"
I have been a resident of Mohave County for just a few years. I am a property owner and a tax payer, a disabled Veteran from the Vietnam era and a law abiding citizen. I am current on most all the recent issues of controversy in this county and as such I'd like to state my opinion on what I have seen. Never in my 62 years have I seen what appears to be so much corruption and deception promulgated by local city and county officials. Never have I seen the Constitutional rights of the people so casually trampled and systematically crushed. Finally, never have I seen such inept and disgraceful leadership.
With this in mind I address this letter to " YOU PEOPLE " , the likes of Walker, Watson, Johnson and Sockwell, to name a few. Yes, " YOU PEOPLE " are on notice. " YOU PEOPLE " just better be listening because your game is up. " YOU PEOPLE " better learn that the time has come for you to be condescended upon, the tables ARE turning. " YOU PEOPLE " better learn who you work for. " YOU PEOPLE " better get a grip and stop your antics and labels. " YOU PEOPLE ", better start seeing the real Wing Nuts when you look into the mirror. "YOU PEOPLE " disgrace your positions, the cities and the County because you have no respect for " WE THE PEOPLE ", who you callously call "a lunatic fringe group".
Shame on "YOU PEOPLE ". How dare you try to intimidate, isolate, segregate and label good citizens for standing up for their rights. How dare you violate and discriminate against " WE THE PEOPLE " by stopping patriots like Mr.Gianluca Zanna from exercising his right and " WE THE PEOPLE'S " right to free speech. How dare you pull unconstitutional stunts like the ridiculous "No Color" policy, and National Guard policing. How dare you stall and stumble when asked questions " WE THE PEOPLE " have an absolute right to ask. How dare you try to cover your unscrupulous behavior with deception and white wash. How dare you try to take the focus off your behavior by pointing out and belittling Mr.Zanna as an Italian born national and lauding Sockwell as born and bred in America. Rather you should be praising Zanna for his many years of hard work becoming a LEGAL immigrant citizen. Sockwell did nothing but fall from his mother's womb and from his behavior it appears he may have fallen on his pointed little pin head.
On 2-16-10 I attended the peaceful protest in front of the County building. There were dozens and dozens of concerned citizens of all ages and from all walks in life. They were there because they believe you intend to continue to subvert our Constitutional right of free speech. "YOU PEOPLE" better believe that for every citizen present there are hundreds more who are feeling the same outrage. Please don't think that focusing on the arrest of one good citizen will take the focus off "You PEOPLE ". I have seen this tactic before when the good pastor of my church was at odds with the city council over absurdly high impact fees to build a new church. Intimidation was the tactic then also when the congregation was met by police cars all over the parking lot before and after services. Will "You People" stop at nothing? Do "YOU PEOPLE" have no shame or moral integrity?
Do "You People" understand how suspicious and evil YOU make the good police and the good city and county employes appear? Do 'You People" understand the tarnish you are putting on this County. Within the first year of moving to Mohave County I had to tell my dear wife, that I was feeling like we hadn't moved to Mohave County Arizona but rather to some obscure third world dictatorship police state. I wonder how the Chamber of Commerce feels about your mindset, " We control the hicks on Route 66 " !
Maybe " YOU PEOPLE " haven't noticed there is a revolution brewing in America and the last time I checked Mohave County was in America. " WE THE PEOPLE " are going to exercise every legal means and Constitutional rights our forefathers and God gave us, whether you like it or not.
Got the message " YOU PEOPLE "? Your going to have a lot more to worry about than a film maker doing a bad cop movie in Kingman. I have a feeling Kingman and Mohave County may soon be seen in a National Spot light because " WE THE PEOPLE " have had enough of " YOU PEOPLE ".
Most sincerely,
Jim Consolato

I have to totally agree with Sharon Frankfurter, but will add one extra comment. Not only do the Board of supervisors lack integrity, they don't even have the courage to face the citizens , as was shown in their meeting of 2-16-2010 , when we gathered in peaceful assembly in the meeting room , and immediately after calling the meeting to order, they moved to adjourn , obviously due to our presence. This type of behavior not only shows a complete disregard for the funds to pay for the days agenda , no business was conducted, and all others who came to address items on the agenda were shown a rude disrespect for the time they took from thier day and may have to make an additional trip to the next meeting.
It's been my experience that when someone who is not able to defend thier position on an issue will use name calling first, and then cut and run, and hide in hopes they will not have to face the truth, that in fact they are not acting in good faith and honor to the oath of the office.Personally I would suggest they be "docked" the days pay for such ridiculous behavior.
I encourage everyone to continue to monitor these meetings, every single time, so we can petition for redress when they are not doing the job the were elected to do.
If the presence of the County residents is so intimidating that they feel it necessary to run and hide, I don't imagine much county business will be accomplished, and would give further proof of their lack of ability to perform the duties of their office.
"We the people" hold the ultimate power , and can remove them to 'stand' in the unemployment line . Let this be a wake up call to all who may be elected to these offices in the future.

Great letter Sharon and very well said. The arrogance spewing from this BOS is quite astounding. The one thing we have to remember is we have the law on our side. They have clearly violated ARS 11-410 and continue to abuse their positions of power to intimidate residents.
All we have to do is stand together and follow through with determination. We can do it and we will do it.
